About us

Small enough to be a family. Big enough to welcome all.

Our Mission:  United in Diversity, Liberated by Love, Growing in Faith.

Our community is made up of authentic people seeking God, seeking others & seeking ourselves.  We are a small, progressive, open and loving church, and we welcome and affirm your presence.  We do not seek to change you, we do not seek to judge you, we do not seek to indoctrinate you.  We are here to provide an opportunity for you to worship and connect with God and with other spiritual people who are earnestly desiring to make the world a better place through our faith and our service.  We pray, we laugh, we study, we comfort, we serve, and we love.

Wesley Oak is a place where all people can develop their spirituality, use their talents, and grow in faith as we seek to love, serve, and celebrate God, Jesus Christ, each other, and our community.

We believe that the door to a real relationship with God is always open to every single person without judgment or reservation, and so are the doors to our church.  We desire to show God’s love for others at every opportunity through acts of service and love.  We are committed to social justice, to helping to create a more fair and equitable world, and to providing a safe space for people to worship and serve God while creating meaningful relationships with each other.

We have a small, dedicated staff and a rotating roster of people who deliver the Sunday message.  Oh, and we have a wonderful and enthusiastic choir! Anyone is welcome to come sing with us! Practice is Sundays at 8:30 am to learn the song for the 9:30 am service. We offer Godly Play for children, a spiritual seekers group, a community garden, potlucks (we have great cooks!), book studies, workshops, documentary nights, service projects, and many other events - and we always have fun! We have a Facebook page and our Sunday service streams live for those times you can’t make it to church.

We are sister churches with Asbury Memorial Church located at 1008 Henry Street in Savannah, Georgia.  https://www.asburymemorial.org.  This means that you have the opportunity to participate in the diverse offerings available through the larger fellowship of Asbury and the choice of worshipping in the small, intimate chapel on the Wesley Oak Campus or the bigger church on the Asbury campus.

Our preaching team is comprised of August Alderman, J.J. Collins, Betsy Kammerud and Chris Kincade, our minister of music is J.J. Collins, our pianist is Warren Heilman, and our church administrator is Parker Collins.
